A graduate of the combined common and civil law program at McGill University and a member of the Ontario and New York Bars, Tina Lie is a partner with Paliare Roland Barristers. With a broad civil litigation practice, Ms. Lie’s interest and expertise is in private international law. She has represented clients before administrative tribunals, all levels of court in Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Notably, she was counsel in Club Resorts Ltd v. Van Breda, the leading Canadian case dealing with the assumption of jurisdiction over a foreign defendant. She regularly advises clients involved in cross-border disputes on jurisdiction and choice of law. Ms. Lie garnered experience with public inquiries through as a staff lawyer on the Goudge Inquiry into Pediatric Forensic Pathology in Ontario.
