Jennifer Egsgard is a partner with Sills Egsgard LLP, a boutique law firm focussing on civil litigation and cross-border business issues including anti-bribery, trade, corporate social responsibility, foreign expropriation, economic sanctions and customs matters. Jennifer is frequently asked to speak on matters relating to emerging corporate social responsibility standards. Jennifer also practises in association with Cognition LLP.
Jennifer’s litigation career prior to founding Sills Egsgard LLP included six years of practice at Fasken Martineau, one of Canada’s largest national law firms. She also practiced for a number of years with a specialized Legal Aid office doing refugee and immigration work where she represented clients in hundreds of hearings before divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, and successfully argued a number of judicial reviews before the Federal Court of Canada. In 2012, she appeared as an expert witness before a Standing Committee of the Canadian House of Commons respecting changes to Canada’s immigration legislation.
